The Gulf Environment & Sustainable Development Forum (GEF), the Kingdom’s largest environment event will feature leading environmental enterprises displaying their latest technology throughout the exhibition. The two day exhibition opens today at the Jeddah Hilton, held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz and organised by Saudi Environmental Society. After being officially inaugurated by HRH Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz, President of PME yesterday, sectors represented at the international exhibition include, waste management, recycling, renewable and clean energy and sustainable development technologies. A new exhibitor for GEF 2011 is Parskon Corporation, a leading provider of advanced solutions and green technologies in water and wastewater recycling and treatment. Parkson have chosen to use the exhibition as a launch pad for their “Thermo-System” Solar Sludge Dryer technology.
Mamdouh Alaqubawy Regional Sales Manager for Parkson MENA explains: “Thermo-System” technology significantly minimizes energy cost by using only 25-30 KWh per ton of water evaporated compared to the massive energy cost associated with the conventional thermal sludge dryers” Another new exhibitor for 2011 is the Testar Division of Tamkeen. Mohammed Ibrahim, Brand Manager of Tamkeen says; “We will be showcasing advanced equipments for the analysis and measurement of emission, humidity, indoor air quality, light, sound, pressure, refrigeration, temperature, and velocity. We will also be launching 2 new initiatives, Testo 350 gas analyzer for stack gas & maritime monitoring and Testo Thermal Imagers for buildings & Industry maintenance & monitoring”. The international exhibition also features a Swedish and UK pavilion, with companies from both countries looking to gain a foothold in the Saudi market, whilst bringing their expertise and international experience from their respective countries. The Swedish Pavilion includes companies such as ABB, Ericsson, Midroc with the companies from the United Kingdom including Choice Waste Management Ltd, Bio Systems Europe and Ecolutia Services. The Gulf Environment Forum presents a unique opportunity to meet decision makers from the distinguished sponsors, including, Huta Environment, GEMS UtilEco, Jeddah Municipality, NCB, SABIC, CH2M Olayan, SAES, SEPCO, AES International, SISCO, ACWA Power, BeeA’H and International Development Bank.
