2nd Advanced Wind Technology and Investment Summit 2010 PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The potential for wind power development is huge, as the province is blessed with 22 GW of potentially exploitable wind resources, nearly one-tenth of China's total. It is precisely because of their great wind energy potential that the coastal and offshore regions occupy a place in China's plan to build several 10 GW wind energy bases across the country. After the tremendous success of the first event co-organized with Baotou People's Government of Inner Mongolia, Noppen moved the 2nd Advanced Wind Technology and Investment Summit 2010 to Nanjing in Jiangsu Province. Supported by Jiangsu Province Renewable Energy Association and Nanjing Wind Power Equipment Association, at this summit, over 180 senior directors and technicians from China's wind energy and wind turbine production bases came together to discuss China's newest industrial policies, advanced technology solutions for their plants growth, grid integration, and the most up-to-date progress reports on major projects in China.

The Vice Mayor of Nanjing, Luo Qun and Vice Director General of Jiangsu Science and Technology Department, Li Qi, gave outstanding speeches on the first morning of the event. They introduced the development of Nanjing's Wind Power Industry and the renewable energy development of the entire Jiangsu Province. Key speakers included Zhou Fengqi, Director General, Energy Research Institute of National Development & Reform Commission and Vice President of the China Energy Association who addressed the development of China's Wind Power industry, and gave a detailed analysis on the problems facing the entire industry. From the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Project Director, Sun Jue explored the opportunities of wind industry cluster development. As a top speaker at the event, she introduced how UNIDO will assist technology development in the wind power industry by funding certain technologies.
